One of my
ambitions would be to own a coffee and a restaurant in the city I was born,
Iquique. I really want to achieve that to work with my parents in the same
place and sell typical Chilean food from all different regions. What inspires
this ambition is that my family has a northern origin. To satisfy it, I’d like
to recognize that the north has a variety of unknown meals and we could create
a menu that shows this interesting part of the culture. Also in this type of
business you meet people from many places, foreigners, people from your own
country and friends from the city who visit you and want support your
enterprise.
I think that
with my architecture studies I’d be able to design interesting places that
pose a different relation to serve the clients. In Iquique, the presence of the
beach and the dunes, as well as the warm weather, sunny days and a fresh wind,
allow us to think of places open to the city, to the outside and to the
passerby. For the location of my coffee I’ve been thinking on many places. I
would like it to be in the Serrano Island because it is a place in the city
with a good and important location but until now this tourist attraction hasn’t
been exploited. If not I’d like it to be located in Playa Brava, this place is
full of coffees and restaurants, and has already the clients,
but there is also great competition. The location of my restaurant will be
crucial because creating jobs I can promote the local culture and tourism. I’ll
wait for you in my future restaurant.
