Cahuil

Resultado de imagen para cahuilI really like to travel. I always do it with my family, we share the same passion. We always visit the south of Chile or the coast, places like Viña del Mar or Valparaiso. Another place we visit a lot is Pichilemu. This town belongs to the O’Higgins region. When I wasn’t even born my mom used to go every summer and stayed there with her mom and dad, her sister and brother. They spent some good times there, in fact, she once told me and my brother that she met the father of my father there because she’d buy at his store without knowing it. Well, so we go almost every year to Pichilemu, and there’s a special place only 20 kilometres from the city in direction to the Coastal Range where you can walk long hours beside the Estero Nilahue. Also, you can take a ride on a boat, buy papayas, salt from the same saltworks and jam from all the tastiness. So, for me and my family this place has a magic meaning. Every time we get there it's cloudy and it only helps me to feel more nostalgic when I think about this place. Its very green thanks to the Estero, there’s always that fresh breeze and the native fauna like the cahuil seagull.

Amsterdam Centraal

Amsterdam Centraal A building I like and had the chance to see is the Amsterdam Railway Station (or Amsterdam Centraal, in Dutch).  It is a big and grand old building, the first thing you see when you come by train, apart form the port and the lot of ships, and you say, "wow, I am finally in Amsterdam!".  Amsterdam is a beautiful city  with a lot of historical architecture, there are so many places to visit, historical museums, fabrics, the national library, you can also cross the city on foot or in a bike tour.  The railway was designed by Dutch architect Pierre Cuypers, who also designed the  Rijksmuseum in the same city,  and first opened in 1889. It features a  Gothic / Renaissance Revival  station building. The Rijksmuseum Since 1997, the station building, underground passages, metro station and the surrounding area have been undergoing major reconstruction and renovation works to accommodat...

The Future

Today I'll try to imagine how would be me and our wolrd in a couple of years.  To start, I´ll say maybe I'll be living in another country, I don't know where but it would be nice to live in Finnland. I think I'll be working as an architect or as a teacher in some good university... Every time I think about leaving Chile I would prefer to bring my family with me, my parents and brother. But if this, for any reason  is not possible I think I wouldn't do it alone, unlees not for ever. So I imagine myself having my own family, my husband and children. I think they would learn a lot belonging to more than one culture.  Of course I'll have finished my studies and this will be a really important achievement in this part of my life. So I'll have got my first job and I'll be great speaking english or more languages.  All what I've writed are just dreams maybe my life becomes in something totaly different or maybe it surpris...

An Ambition

One of my ambitions would be to own a coffee and a restaurant in the city I was born, Iquique. I really want to achieve that to work with my parents in the same place and sell typical Chilean food from all different regions. What inspires this ambition is that my family has a northern origin. To satisfy it, I’d like to recognize that the north has a variety of unknown meals and we could create a menu that shows this interesting part of the culture. Also in this type of business you meet people from many places, foreigners, people from your own country and friends from the city who visit you and want support your enterprise. I think that with my architecture studies I’d be able to design interesting places that pose a different relation to serve the clients. In Iquique, the presence of the beach and the dunes, as well as the warm weather, sunny days and a fresh wind, allow us to think of places open to the city, to the outside and to the passerby. For the location of my coffee I’ve b...
